Integrating vintage pieces into your homes interior design adds historic and nostalgic feel that further adds interest, depth and charm to your space. Personally, in my work I always add pieces of historical nature that relate to the area in which the homes reside. For example, these swimming caps are displayed in box frames to bring a deeper feel for the area.

1. Think of the feeling that you want to have in your space. What pieces could you seek out or already would further help create the feeling, personality and atmosphere you want.

2. Keep your walls neutral. When adding such unique items especially, if they have a punch of color there is no need to have bold colors on your walls, you can stick with a white or neutral paint.

3. Respect the original use, don’t get in ‘precious’ mode with them. Using pieces not just displaying them, for example an old piece of China can make your daily life a little more special. Nothing like eating burgers on 1940s China!

The main thing is to have fun, enjoy the collection as well as the usage.
